In 2022, MERCYWordlwide made an impact by supporting war-torn Ukraine. Thousands of refugees were displaced from their homes as war broke out on their land. I was called to help design digital elements for a worldwide campaign to raise money to support refugees. Partnering with the International Christian Churches, we posted web banner designs linking to the Support Ukraine landing page. The designs were placed among the websites of 130 churches across each of the 5 populated continents. In just 2 weeks , we received over $200,000 ! For the next month, we posted day-by-day blogs and weekly emails highlighting the stories of refugees and progress of the services in Ukraine.
To meet emergency needs, I developed and launched landing page and blog platform in 1 day and designed a series of 20 banners for web, mobile, print, and social media platforms with QR codes directing to landing page. Myself and the upper management partnered to utilize the organization’s email audience of 322 worldwide directors to leverage exposure. Each of the worldwide leaders promoted the banners on their regional websites and social media pages. I focused then on nurturing the audience through a 2 week semi-daily journal and video post recording of the ground work progress of volunteers and aid in Ukraine.
